History on San Miguel

 

 


San Miguel de allende is located in the Midcentral part of Mexico, in the beautiful state of Guanajuato.

San Miguel de Allende is internationally known for its friendly people, and the picturesque colonial buildings that adorn this small town of San Miguel.

But above all, it is well known for an esplendorous monument that adorns and gives life to the entire town.

This is monument, is a church called La Parroquia de San Miguel Archangel.

San Miguel el Grande (as it was called before), was founded by a Franciscan monk in 1542.

La Parroquia is a catholic church which is located in the center part of the town. It was built in the 1700s.

 

 

San Miguel de Allende was declared a national monument in 1926 to ensure the preservation of its enviroment.

San Miguel de Allende has a unique life stye, a unique artistic and cultural ambience, with a wonderful climate.
